Since I Have Been Redeemed

Since I Have Been Redeemed
words by Edwin Excell

I have a song I love to sing,
Since I have been redeemed,
Of my Redeemer, Savior King,
Since I have been redeemed.

Refrain:
Since I have been redeemed,
Since I have been redeemed,
I will glory in His Name,
Since I have been redeemed,
I will glory in the Savior’s Name.

I have a Christ Who satisfies
Since I have been redeemed,
To do His will my highest prize,
Since I have been redeemed.

I have a witness bright and clear,
Since I have been redeemed,
Dispelling every doubt and fear,
Since I have been redeemed.

I have a home prepared for me,
Since I have been redeemed,
Where I shall dwell eternally,
Since I have been redeemed.

I have a joy I can’t express,
Since I have been redeemed,
All through His blood and righteousness,
Since I have been redeemed.

* * *

My lips will shout for joy, when I sing praise to You—I, whom You have redeemed.

The Canisters That Called My Name

If you know me, you probably know that I am always collecting things for my hope chest. (In fact, I blogged about it for a week as part of my Collections series.)

A couple of weeks ago, I was walking through Macy's to get to another store in the mall, when I looked over and saw the perfect canisters for my someday kitchen. They were part of the Martha Stewart line, white with colored lettering, and the price was pretty reasonable.

I am thrilled with my find!

They called my name...and I answered.

God of Grace and God of Glory

God of Grace and God of Glory
words by Harry Fosdick

God of grace and God of glory,
On Thy people pour Thy power.
Crown Thine ancient church’s story,
Bring her bud to glorious flower.
Grant us wisdom, grant us courage,
For the facing of this hour,
For the facing of this hour.

Lo! the hosts of evil ’round us,
Scorn Thy Christ, assail His ways.
From the fears that long have bound us,
Free our hearts to faith and praise.
Grant us wisdom, grant us courage,
For the living of these days,
For the living of these days.

Cure Thy children’s warring madness,
Bend our pride to Thy control.
Shame our wanton selfish gladness,
Rich in things and poor in soul.
Grant us wisdom, grant us courage,
Lest we miss Thy kingdom’s goal,
Lest we miss Thy kingdom’s goal.

Set our feet on lofty places,
Gird our lives that they may be,
Armored with all Christ-like graces,
In the fight to set men free.
Grant us wisdom, grant us courage,
That we fail not man nor Thee,
That we fail not man nor Thee.

Save us from weak resignation,
To the evils we deplore.
Let the search for Thy salvation,
Be our glory evermore.
Grant us wisdom, grant us courage,
Serving Thee Whom we adore,
Serving Thee Whom we adore.

Summer

Linking up to Vee's note card party...

A Haven for Vee

Hydrangea
I love hydrangeas! They are one of my favorite flowers.
If I get married in June I want to have hydrangeas as my flowers.

Butterfly
This butterfly was sipping some nectar from a zinnia.

Crab
This crab was found on a trip we took to the beach last year. Since he had already perished when we found him, we brought him home so that I could take his picture with my nice camera.

Mimosa
I love it when the mimosa tree blooms. It's such a nice pop of color and it looks so delicate.

Jesus Saves

Jesus Saves
words by Priscilla Owens

We have heard the joyful sound: Jesus saves! Jesus saves!
Spread the tidings all around: Jesus saves! Jesus saves!
Bear the news to every land, climb the mountains, cross the waves;
Onward! ’tis our Lord’s command; Jesus saves! Jesus saves!

Waft it on the rolling tide: Jesus saves! Jesus saves!
Tell to sinners far and wide: Jesus saves! Jesus saves!
Sing, you islands of the sea; echo back, you ocean caves;
Earth shall keep her jubilee: Jesus saves! Jesus saves!

Sing above the battle strife: Jesus saves! Jesus saves!
By His death and endless life Jesus saves! Jesus saves!
Shout it brightly through the gloom, when the heart for mercy craves;
Sing in triumph o’er the tomb: Jesus saves! Jesus saves!

Give the winds a mighty voice: Jesus saves! Jesus saves!
Let the nations now rejoice: Jesus saves! Jesus saves!
Shout salvation full and free; highest hills and deepest caves;
This our song of victory: Jesus saves! Jesus saves!

I did not come to judge the world, but to save it.  ~John 12:47

Hydrangeas are one of my favorite flowers. They are so beautiful and I'm always sad when their season is done.

Take the Name of Jesus With You

Take the Name of Jesus With You
words by Lydia Baxter

Take the Name of Jesus with you,
Child of sorrow and of woe,
It will joy and comfort give you;
Take it then, where’er you go.

Refrain:
Precious Name, O how sweet!
Hope of earth and joy of Heav’n.
Precious Name, O how sweet!
Hope of earth and joy of Heav’n.

Take the Name of Jesus ever,
As a shield from every snare;
If temptations round you gather,
Breathe that holy Name in prayer.

O the precious Name of Jesus!
How it thrills our souls with joy,
When His loving arms receive us,
And His songs our tongues employ!

At the Name of Jesus bowing,
Falling prostrate at His feet,
King of kings in Heav’n we’ll crown Him,
When our journey is complete.

~ ~ ~

God…gave Him the Name that is above every name, that at the Name of Jesus every knee should bow, in Heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord.

* My Coffee *

Guess what! I have a Starbucks coffee named after me! Not really, but it is spelled my way. The other day, Barbara, knowing how I spell my name, mentioned that Starbucks had a new coffee blend called Kati Kati. I happened to see that it's pronounced Kah-tee Kah-tee but in our house, we call it Kati Kati. :)

On the way home from Owen's special outing yesterday, I stopped by Starbucks and got a pound of Kati Kati blend. I wanted to try the blend that is spelled my way.

It made a good cup of coffee. It's nice to have for a special cup now and then.  Next I'll have to try it iced.

Owen's Special Outing

Owen was the last one. He has been a patient boy waiting for his turn for a special outing. It worked out that today was the day of the Regal dollar movie that we had been planning to see with Kristin and her children. After the movie, Owen and I hopped in the car and headed to McDonald's. Since he was the last one chosen, Owen had a bonus of lunch with me, too. After our lunch, we headed on over to Sonic where Owen got a chocolate milkshake and I tried the peanut butter bacon shake.

It has been so much fun spending time with each of the kids.
