Lost and Gained in 2014

~2014~

This year has been a year of ups and downs for me.

I LOST my gallbladder -- It started in February with two trips to the ER. After many doctor visits and tests, I had my gallbladder removed in April. It was a long, painful journey.

GAINED a new car -- My old car was on the point of dying so I traded it in for a new one (to me)... a Chrysler 300 which I named Mr. Knightley. (Does anyone else name their cars?!)

I LOST my job and my friend -- after the elderly man I cared for passed away, I lost both a job I loved, and a very dear friend. He felt like a third grandfather to me.

I GAINED a new nephew -- Paul Ronald was born on November 24. I haven't met him yet, but I know he's a sweetie.

I GAINED a new job -- Exactly one month after I lost my old job, I started working at Chick-fil-A.

LOST 45 pounds -- Between February and April, I had to eliminate all fats from my diet. After the surgery, I had a lot of nausea due to my body adjusting to no gallbladder. I finally got the nausea under control by drinking more water. All of that plus eating less equals weight loss.

What have you lost and gained this year?

We were talking at the breakfast this morning about how even and uneventful this year was for us. Things happened-- fun things, normal things, sad things, life things-- but no big events stand out. I guess that's a good thing.

I've lost 32 pounds this year. I gained a son in law. We lost Tim's step dad and Aunt this year, too. Gained a lot of grace.

Happy New Year Kati!

Happy New Year, Kati. I can't think of much I've lost this year - but I gained a new grandson and a new car!

What a year for you, dear Kati. I am glad to hear you are feeling better now and you look simply lovely, but you always have :)

May your New Year be full of God's sweet grace and His precious blessings. Hugs to you!

I'm glad you linked up, Kates! It's been quite an eventful year for you, hasn't it? It is always good to take a peek back and see where the Lord has led. ♥

Kati, you really did have yourself a year. You look beautiful, but I am sorry that you were so very ill. Used to be that they didn't make a person wait so long for surgery. I want to eat at Chick-fil-A one day. Do you believe that we don't have one?

Have been missing you, your posts, as well as a few others, do not always appear in my TL. Very annoying! You look wonderful, and I am happy you're working. I did not know you did home health care. That is so important. Not easy work, for sure, but vital. Have you considered nursing school?

Wow, lots of ups and downs for you ... but you LOOK fantastic! Just beautiful. Congratulations on the weight loss. I'm a firm believer in walking and water being the best ways to maintain (and even lose) weight. I have to eat low carb and that helps too! Happy 2015 to you, Kati.
