Surgery Update

My gallbladder surgery was last Thursday. The surgery went well. The doctor used the daVinci robotic arm which meant only one small incision just below my belly button. I had to spend one night in the hospital because of the nausea from the anesthesia and pain, but by Friday morning I was well enough to go home.

Since then, I've been taking it easy on the sofa with an occasional trip out to get fresh air and to move around. I still need help getting up and down and the other day, a sneeze took me by surprise and I couldn't prepare for it and it really hurt. But I haven't been needing as much medicine for the pain and not much of the stronger stuff at all.

Thank you all so much for your thoughts and prayers. I was only a little nervous about the surgery and as I was being rolled in to the operating room, I felt totally peaceful.

I'm so glad my gallbladder is gone and I can start getting back to my normal life.

Hello dear Kati

It is a relief to have it all behind you now and day by day you will feel stronger.
The keyhole surgery is a wonderful advance in medicine.

Thinking of you - take care.

It's wonderful to hear you are doing well, Kati! I had this same surgery and it is quite remarkable that the old conventional surgery is not needed in most cases with gall bladder removal. Take care of yourself and it will be no time before you are back to full health. ♥
